I am so lucky to have found Dr. Orona 10 years ago. She works as a partner in our health, taking a holistic approach. She listens carefully to our concerns, history and can identify key areas to focus on to help us reach full healing. She has a deep understanding of thyroid health and has guided myself and my two daughters to balance our thyroid hormones and gain energy again. In fact, I am in remission from Hashimoto’s. I am so grateful to have a doctor that understands thyroid function and how to restore balance. She is kind, compassionate and has been a big part of our family’s recovery!!

When my kids were very young, they were diagnosed with asthma and some environmental allergies. But, their food related allergy testing was negative.  We spent a great deal of time in our pediatrician's and allergist's office.  My children had frequent ear infections, runny noses, asthma attacks, stomach flus, weight loss and nausea.  They were on regular inhalers, nebulizer (breathing) treatments, prednisone and cough medicine.  My son struggled to sleep at night--it took 1-2 hours to put him to sleep--with many tears. Finally, my daughter needed tubes placed. 

 

A girlfriend gave me Dr. Orona's number--but I went ahead and had the tubes placed--but within 3 months, her ear infections returned.  We visited a family friend Ohio--he was an MD and NMD.  He saw my son and said he needed to have "Neurotransmitter testing." I had never heard of this before! We completed the testing.  I received the results but did not understand them. Then, he felt we needed to move back for treatment.  That is when I decided to call Dr. Orona. When I met her, I stated I was a very Western based Dietitian and did not believe in Naturopathic medicine but my children were frequently ill and now I needed to understand the results of the "Neurotransmitter testing." Dr. Orona scheduled a 3 part Non-Invasive Allergy testing for my kids. I was skeptical even then.  BUT--by the end of all of the appointments, she diagnosed my children with a dairy allergy and provided supplements for my son (regarding the results of the Neurotransmitter testing).  I was so concerned about their nutritional status...but I went ahead with Dr. Orona's recommendations--I was just so concerned about my children's health. 

 

WOW! Within 2 weeks, my son was sleeping peacefully within 20 minutes-no crying.  After we removed cow based dairy products, my children's asthma attacks and stomach flus decreased significantly to 1 to 2 a year, no more runny noses or nausea.  Even when we lived abroad for 5 years, we continued to have our yearly visits with her. 

 

Dr. Orona still sees my children twice a year--they look forward to her visits-she has the most amazing bedside manner.  What I like most is she is very evidenced based, but uses so many modalities to diagnose and treat.  She has converted me from just being a Western based Dietitian. Dr. Orona--You are Simply Wonderful!

When I first saw Dr. Orona I was a mess; thyroid out of whack, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, all way off the normal range, and quite simply, I thought I was going crazy (and to be truthful, I thought I might actually have a terminal illness). My symptoms ranged from sleeplessness, irritability, exhaustion, depression, feelings of horrible panic and hot flashes to ending up in the hospital with major tachycardia. My GP briefly touched on some things that could be causing my scary symptoms, and we went through the normal regimen of tests and medications, but it wasn’t until I saw Dr. Orona that it became obvious I was horribly perimenopausal. Not that this diagnosis was simple, anything but! We went through many lab tests which were so much more comprehensive than any other doctor I had seen in my life. In the end, she found the perfect balance of medication, diet and lifestyle that put me back on track and feeling normal and myself again!

I have referred many of my female (and male) friends to Dr. Orona. She has a broad range of talents and certifications and is a pleasure to work with. She truly cares for her patients and spends so much more time with her patients than just a standard 15 minute doctor visit. You know she truly care about you as a person and a patient.

I cannot imagine another naturopath with more education, experience and genuine concern for her patients. The entire staff at her practice follows her lead in this regard.
